  The Corby Group was founded in 1994 by Mr. Rick Anstey. Rick has over 27 years experience in Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T), and enjoys a high profile in the industry in Australia by way of his founding of Tangent Pty Ltd in 1981. Tangent was a well respected software development company that was sold to a listed Australian public company in August 1994. In February, 1999 Bob Hayward, a long time friend and business associate of Rick's, joined the company as a Partner to formalise the activities of the Corby Group into four specific areas. Bob had previously been the Group Vice President of Asia/Pacific Research for the Gartner Group, responsible for all Gartner Group, Dataquest and Datapro analysts and research for all of Asia/Pacific including Japan. Before Gartner Group, Bob had introduced products such as Tivoli Systems and Candle Corporation into the Asia/Pacific market, and has been in senior vendor management positions within the IT industry for over 20 years. Rick Anstey and Bob Hayward are recognised passionate advocates for Australia to become a more acknowledged centre of IT&T related activity and intellectual capital, and to be more proactive about attracting IT&T investment as well as nurturing locally-owned IT&T companies to spur continued growth in employment and in the Australian economy. A particular focus of the company has been the attraction of call centres, customer contact centres and support centres to Queensland, Australia - working closely with the Gold Coast City Council, the Queensland State Government and Telstra Corporation (the dominant Australian telecommunications carrier).
